Luxembourg, 14/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 12 December, the Court of First Instance reviewed two fines imposed by the Commission on members of a cartel in the choline chloride market. Belgian manufacturer UCB had its fine reduced by 90%, but BASF of Germany saw its fine increased, after consideration by the Court of the extent of its cooperation with the European Commission investigation. This is the first time that the Court has increased a fine imposed by the Commission.
