05/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 30 November the European Commission decided to send reasoned opinions to Estonia, Malta, Spain and the United Kingdom for failing to transpose the European rules on enhancing port security into their national law. Sending a reasoned opinion constitutes the last stage before possible referral to the Court of Justice. The member states should have transposed this directive by 15 June 2007. (L.C.)
