Brussels, 23/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 22 November, the European Commission approved four Greek operational programmes (OPs) to develop human resources, education and social inclusion. The OPs are being co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Greek government, which will be providing €6.12bn over the next seven years. The ESF will provide a total of €4.36bn to help Greece improve the flexibility and skills level of the country's workforce. The Commission states, however, that Greece has to make 'special efforts' to tackle the black economy and 'fight discrimination against vulnerable groups.' (G.B.)
