16/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has allocated €1.5 million in emergency humanitarian aid to help the victims of the cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh. The funding from the ECHO budget, the Commission's humanitarian aid department, will help with immediate needs: food, drinking water, shelters and clothes. The aid will be channelled through partner agencies on the ground (United Nations agencies, NGOs, the Red Cross). (L.C.)
