Luxembourg, 17/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - According to reports from the Angola Press Agency and the Xinhua News Agency on 16 October, the European Investment Bank (EIB) is about to sign an agreement with TV Cabo Angola to fund a joint project between the Portuguese Visabeira group and Angola Telecom. The agreement, which would involve $15 million loan to fund this telecommunications sector project, is expected to be signed very shortly by an EIB delegation which arrived in the Angolan capital on a six-day visit. The EIB delegation is scheduled to meet Ana Dias Lourenço, Angolan Planning Minister, and Deputy Finance Minister Eduardo Severim de Morais to discuss financial cooperation issues. It will also meet Angolan governmental bodies and banks, and will introduce Mr Serge Klumper and Ms Isabel Costa, the Bank's new representatives responsible for EIB affairs in Southern Africa, in the Indian Ocean Region and in Angola.
