28/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is currently working on a draft communication on European action in the area of rare diseases. Consultation of interested parties is due to end on 8 October. Once finalised, the draft will be translated into the 23 languages of the EU, prior to a public consultation exercise, which will probably begin in November. Following an impact study, the final text will be sent to the Council and Parliament in the first half of 2008. (oj)
