27/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - Following examination under the simplified merger review procedure, the European Commission has granted clearance to the acquisition of sole control of German insurance companies Postbank Versicherung Aktiengesellschaft, PostbankLebensversicherung Aktiengesellschaft, BHW Lebensversicherung Aktiengesellschaft and BHW Pensionkasse Aktiengesellschaft by Talanx Aktiengesellschaft (financial services and insurance). Another deal examined under the simplified review procedure was also given the go-ahead, namely acquisition of sole control of Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing BV (BvDEP) of The Netherlands by BC Funds, acting through CIE Management II Ltd of Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
