27/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - During the Agriculture Council on Wednesday 26 September, France and Germany voiced protest over the “sugar” chapter of Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) negotiations with ACP countries. “If the European market for sugar imports is fully liberalised, it will be destabilised and the efforts being made in Europe to restructure the sugar sector will be compromised”, said Michel Barnier, France's Agriculture Minister.
