27/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - One of the nine individuals alleged to have known about the existence of the CIA's secret prisons in Europe (four Polish nationals and five Romanian nationals, including the presidents of both countries) according to the report by Giovanni Claudio Fava (PES, Italy, see yesterday's Europe) is Marek Siwiec (PES, Poland), Vice-President of the European Parliament, who was a member of the Polish secret services before being elected MEP. Siwiec has made libel allegations against Council of Europe rapporteur Dick Marty at Poznan Court. Siwiec claims that he knew nothing about any secret agreement between Poland and the United States, arguing that the Marty report is based on false information and is an attack on Siwiec's personal rights.
