21/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - After analysis of the pharmacovigilance data available, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) decided to recommend use limited to no more than 15 days for products containing nimesulide. This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) remains authorised to treat acute pain and invalidating conditions, but presents a major risk of hepatic toxicity in prolonged use.
