Brussels, 17/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - After two previous rounds of discussions (6-11 May and 16-20 July, see EUROPE 9421, 9427 and 9469), European and South Korean negotiators will meet in Brussels from 17-21 September in a third round of talks on a bilateral EU-South Korea free trade agreement (FTA). The EU, which has set the bar high, offering South Korean exporters 100% tariff-free market access, conditional on an equally ambitious proposal from the South Korean side, hopes the revised offer from Seoul will come up to its expectations. The EU is hoping for improved access for its exports to high-growth sectors in South Korea - sectors like motor cars, manufactured goods, investment and services. (eh)
