Commission needs a further €208 million after the storms in January and February

Brussels, 14/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 13 September, the European Commission adopted a draft amendment to the 2007 budget to cover new requirements, including the €172.2 million in commitment appropriations from the Solidarity Fund for Germany (€166.9 million following the violent storms of January 2007) and the French island of La Reunion in the Caribbean (€5.3 million to cover damage caused by a tropical cyclone in February 2007).
