12/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 11 September, the European Parliament's fisheries committee adopted the report by Paulo Casaca (PES, Portugal), which approves, without amendment, the proposal on respecting procedures for collecting and using data in the fisheries sector (EUROPE 9411 on the Commission proposal from last April). The newly proposed regulation will replace the 2000 regulation and enter into force in 2008. (lc)
