04/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 4 September, the European Parliament in Strasbourg adopted the report by Gerardo Galeote (EPP-ED, Spain) approving the regulation the common classification of territorial units (NUTS) by reason of the accession to the EU of Bulgaria and Romania in 2007. The European Commission's proposal dates from 13 March 2007. The classification allows harmonised Community regional statistics to be collected and published. (lc)
