Swedish concern TELIASONERA is on the verge of acquiring American company MCT for an undisclosed sum, with a view to extending its presence in Central Asia. This operation will enable it to obtain majority shareholdings in COSCOM (Uzbekistan), INDIGO and SOMONCOM (Tajikistan) as well as minority shareholdings in ROSHAN (Afghanistan).
