26/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 24 April, the European Commission adopted a technical adjustment of the Financial Framework 2007-2013 for 2008 in line with changes in gross national income (GNI) in the EU27 and price changes. The overall ceiling on commitment appropriations for 2008 (€131.487 billion) equals 1.06% of GNI (compared with 1.08 in the initial table). The corresponding overall ceiling for payment appropriations (€129.481 billion) equals 1.04% of GNI (1.06% in the initial table). On the basis of the latest economic forecasts, this leaves a margin beneath the 1.24% own resources ceiling of €24.949 billion (0.20% of GNI for the EU27). (lc)
