12/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - Eurojust President Michael Kennedy and Luis Moreno-Ocampo, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), signed on 10 April a letter of understanding on cooperation between their services. Eurojust, the European Union's judicial body, already had agreements with other European organisations such as Europol and OLAF but not with an international body. Eurojust and the Office of the Prosecutor have undertaken to exchange information in the areas of serious and organised crime, but also to enhance their contacts, explore areas of cooperation and promote the exchange of experiences. The letter of understanding underlines the intention of the two organisations to make their cooperation more formal in a future agreement. (bc)
