16/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 15 March, the European Commission cleared acquisition of sole control of SIG Holding AG (SIG) of Switzerland by Rank Group Holdings Limited (Rank) of New Zealand. Rank is an investment company with stakes in many sectors, including carton packaging via the US company Evergreen. SIG is active in aseptic carton packaging solutions and plastic packaging solutions. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (cd)
