Brussels, 07/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - Retail sales fell by 0.1% in the eurozone in January 2007 (compared with January 2006) but rose 1.4% in the EU27. Compared with December 2006, the sales index fell 1.0% and 0.9% respectively. On an annual basis, sales of food, drinks and tobacco fell 1.6% in the eurozone and 0.3% in the EU27, while the non-food sector increased by 1.3% and 3.0% respectively.
