EU welcomes Beijing agreement on North Korean nuclear programme, but insists it must be implemented “in full and unconditionally”

Brussels, 14/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - Speaking on behalf of the EU, the German presidency welcomed the agreement reached in Beijing on 13 February (as part of the “Six-Party Talks), which opens the way for North Korea's nuclear facilities to be dismantled in exchange for energy aid. “The implementation of the agreement reached in Beijing would provide an opportunity to take an important step towards more stability in East Asia and, in particular, on the entire Korean peninsula,” said...
