26/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 26 January, the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health endorsed Community measures with which Hungary must comply to limit the risks of spread of bird flu (see EUROPE 9352). In concrete terms, the decision puts the Hungarian region of Csongrád - where the H5N1 strain of the virus was found in a flock of domestic geese - on the list of areas subject to restrictions (applicable to the movement of poultry and poultry-based products).
