As expected, NGOs press Commission to legislate to compel manufacturers to further reduce emissions from new cars

Brussels, 24/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission's decision to delay the presentation of the new measures it plans to further reduce CO2 emissions from new cars by 2012 has provoked criticism from ecologists (see EUROPE 9350) and caused great embarrassment to the Commission, just a few days before its package of integrated measures on “Energy and Climate” were due to be adopted.
