Brussels, 12/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - After talks between the United States and European Commission Directorate General for Transport, representatives of EU Member States and the aviation industry in Brussels on 10-11 January to try and re-launch negotiations over an Open Skies agreement (see EUROPE 9340), both sides decided to continue their discussions in Washington in the week starting 5 February. In a press release, the European Commission explained: 'Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the goal of concluding an EU-US agreement that would open access to markets and maximise benefits for consumers, airlines, labour, and communities on both sides of the Atlantic'.
