19/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance to the acquisition of joint control of United Biscuits of the UK by Blackstone Group (Blackstone, USA) and PAI Partners (PAI, France). Blackstone is a private merchant banking firm. PAI is a private equity firm. United Biscuits produces and sells sweet and savoury biscuits, cakes and snacks. (ol)
