EU25 fails to authorise or reject trans-genetic potato crops in EU

Brussels, 05/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - Experts from EU Member States failed on 4 December to give a verdict on the European Commission's proposal to allow a generically modified potato to be grown in the EU produced by BASF. No qualified majority was attained for approval or rejection. The Commission will send it to the Environment Council to decide on. (an)
