03/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - According to a press release published on 31 October, the Commission, on 11 October, carried out unannounced inspections at the premises of several Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) producers in Germany, which it suspected of infringing Article 81 of the EC Treaty banning practices such as price fixing. Samsung Electronics admitted being one of the firms raided. SRAM allows very rapid access and is used mainly in cell phones and mobile peripherals. (ab)
