Breakdown of 2007-2013 funding among Member States

Brussels, 03/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 27 October, the European Commission published the breakdown of EU Cohesion Policy allocations among Member States from 2007 to 2013, in other words for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Cohesion Fund. Of the total EUR 346.1 bn for 27 EU Member States over seven years (minus EUR 1.3 bn allocated to the European Commission for technical assistance), Poland gets the biggest slice of the cake, with a total of EUR 67.284 bn (8.1 bn in 2007, 10 bn in 2011 and up to 11.2 bn in 2013). Next comes Spain (35.216 bn), Italy (28.811 bn), the Czech Republic (26.691 bn), Germany (26,339 bn), Hungary (25.307 bn), Portugal (21.510 bn) and Greece (20.419 bn). Romania is ninth, with 19.667 bn, followed by France (14.318 bn), Slovakia (11.587 bn), the United Kingdom (10.613 bn), Lithuania (6.884 bn), Bulgaria (6.852 bn), Latvia (4.620 bn), Slovenia (4.205 bn), Estonia (3.455 bn) and Belgium (2.257 bn). Four Member States will get less than 2 bn, namely the Netherlands (1.906 bn), Sweden (1.891 bn), Finland (1.716 bn) and Austria (1.4 bn) and five Member States will get less than EUR 1 bn, namely Ireland (901.355 mil), Malta (855.359 mil), Cyprus (639.953 mil), Denmark (613.022 mil) and Luxembourg (65.278 mil).
