08/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 8 September The Association of the Local Democracy Agency (ALDL) opened its 12th Local Democracy Agency (LDA) in Kutaisi, Georgia. This is the first LDA that will be working outside South East Europe, a region where the Association has been active for thirteen years, announced a press release. The first projects this new agency will be working on involve human rights, youth and training and representatives from local bodies and civil society. The ceremony was preceded on 7 September by a meeting of all partners cities of the ALDL: - Strasbourg and Nantes (France), Newport (United Kingdom), Monfalcone (Italy), Kutaisi and Tbilisi (Georgia) - and the NGOs “Centre for Social Ethics” (Lithuania), the Georgian Association of Local Authorities NALAG, “Partners Georgia” and “Jutaisi-Newport”.
