Brussels, 08/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - Under the auspices of the EP's Urban Intergroup president Jean-Marie Beaupuy (ALDE, France), the “City On the Move Institute” (IVM) is organising on 12 September at the EP's premises in Brussels, a round table on cooperation between Europe and China on the subjects of urban growth and sustainable mobility. Participants include Mr Beaupuy, Ms Eleni Kopanezou (DG Energy/Transport at the Commission), Xavier Fels (Secretary General of City on the Move), Didier Rebois (professor of architecture and Secretary General of European), Pan Haixiao (professor of urbanism at the Tongji University of Shanghais). IVM was set up in 2000 by PSA Peugeot Citroën to develop innovative action regarding urban mobility and focuses on the following priorities: facilitating mobility for individuals and social groups with specific difficulties, improving the performance and quality of urban transport, contributing to the development of urban mobility cultures and to society.
