24/08/2006 (Agence Europe) - Italian Radicals Marco Pannella and Marco Cappato, MEPs, have launched an Appeal-Manifesto to promote a global mobilisation for peace in the Middle East and “create a concrete alternative to the threat of a horrible conflict…that could rapidly extend throughout the whole world”. Pointing out that at the beginning of the 1980s more than 120 Nobel Prize winners supported the Appeal-Manifesto (also on the initiative of the Radical Party) supporting the fight against hunger and under-development, the two MEPs affirm, “today, we think that a similar effort is needed to encourage another approach with regard to the Middle East and promote the rule of law and the right to live for all” (Info: http://www.radicalparty.org ).
