Commission takes legal action over failure to comply with Birds and Habitats Directives

Brussels, 04/08/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has taken several decisions on matters concerning application of the Birds and Habitats Directives in the following Member States: 1) Spain: The Commission has closed the case concerning the construction of the Ciudad Real Airport in Spain, after completion of a proper EIA and adoption of effective measures; 2) Greece: first written warning following a judgement of the European Court of Justice against this country on 16 March...
