03/08/2006 (Agence Europe) -The Commission has given the go-ahead to the planned joint acquisition by Philips Electronics NV of the Netherlands and BenQ Corporation of Taiwan of control of Philips & BenQ Digital Storage Corporation, which is responsible for the development, production and sale of optical data storage technology. The transaction was examined under the simplified procedure.
