20/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 20 July, the European Commission formally adopted the decision to close the anchovy fishery in the Bay of Biscay until the end of 2006. The ban on fishing anchovy, which affects French and Spanish fishermen in the area, comes into effect on 220 July.
