19/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance by simplified merger review procedure to the acquisition of sole control of six subsidiaries of the German RWE Solutions AG: SAG Holding GmbH, Nukem Holding GmbH, Lahmeyer International GmbH, RWE Space Solar Power GmbH, RWE Solutions France SAS and RWE Solutions Ibérica S.L. of Spain and joint control of one other by Advent International, as well as acquire joint control over RWE Industrielösungen GmbH (RWE Industrial Solutions) of Germany. RWE is a utilities company, mainly active in energy and water distribution. Advent is a private equity company with a number of shareholdings in various sectors, in particular information and industrial technology and pharmaceuticals. The operation does not pose any competition problems.
