Ban on League of Human Rights Congress - PES calls for relations with Tunis to be “reconsidered”

Tunis, 30/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Tunisian Human Rights League Congress was marked by a number of incidents during the weekend and it was finally banned. Hélène Flautre MEP (Greens, France), the President of the European Parliament Human Rights Sub-committee had been due to participate at the congress. Members of minority factions, who believe that they had illegally been ousted from leading bodies in the League, called on the police to prevent the Congress being held. This action is...
