19/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, Jana Hybaskova MEP (EPP-ED, Czech Republic) strongly condemned the decision of the Egyptian Court of Appeal confirming the five-year jail sentence for Ayman Nour, the leader of the Egyptian opposition. 'Egypt is a cradle of Arab civilisation. This country with its cultural, political and economic potential has a chance to become a leader of democracy in the Arabs world,' she commented.
