Brussels, 19/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Committee of the Regions (CoR) will be launching a Lisbon Network on the web to look at whether regions and cities are getting more involved in implementing the Lisbon Strategy and to establish a Barometer of Regions to compare progress, problems and requirements of regions in this connection. The network of 50 regions and local authorities will be selected by a call for tender to be published next week, explained CoR President, Michel Delebarre, in his 17 May address to the 'Cercle des Delegues Permanent francais'. He said the CoR wanted to get regions and local authorities involved in the Lisbon Strategy and put indirect pressure on countries at national level to encourage greater cooperation with local authorities and a sustainable boom in the EU economy.
