25/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has published a new report on trends within the travel sector and tourism in China, a region on its way to becoming the second largest economy in the sector over the next decade. The report “China, Hong Kong SAR and China Macau SAR: the Impact of Travel & Tourism on Jobs and the Economy” updates a study published only three years ago, but which is already out of date, given the extremely rapid development of the travel and tourism sector in China. The report describes the situation for 2006, backed up by figures, and comments on the obstacles which could slow the development of tourism in the region.
