24/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance for the creation of a joint venture, CW, by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., ultimately controlled by Time Warner Inc. (Time Warner) of the US, and CBS Corporation (CBS), also of the US, controlled by Sumner Redstone. CW will operate a free-to-air broadcast network in the US. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
