16/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - In Strasbourg on 15 March, the European Parliament, by 472 votes to 65, with 73 abstentions, passed a proposal to determine access conditions for EU tuna fishing boats to the fish stocks of the Federated States of Micronesia (see EUROPE 9052 and 8710). The fisheries protocol, lasting three years from 2005, allows for fishing possibilities for freezer tuna seiners (75% for Spain and 25% for France) and surface longliners (8 vessels for Spain and 4 for Portugal)....
