Russian operator VIMPELCOM has made an offer of USD 5 billion for the acquisition of 100% of Ukrainian company, KYIVSTAR, 56.5% of which is owned by Norwegian firm, TELENOR, and for the 43.5% stake held by ALTIMO (Russian ALFA GROUP). KYIVSTAR is number one in mobile phones in Ukraine with 14.3 millions subscribers.
