31/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Following a meeting with his German counterpart, Horst Seehofer, the French Agriculture Minister Dominique Bussereau stated that the French government's memorandum on the Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) was likely to be considered by the Council of European Agriculture Ministers in the Spring, most probably in March. Mr Bussereau said that the political memorandum, which was a defence and an illustration of the CAP, should bring an improvement in the ordinary workings of the CAP, especially with regard to agricultural crises, crop insurance and administrative simplification, according to AFP. Mr Bussereau gave Mr Seehofer a copy of the French memorandum to allow the German government the opportunity to bring amendments before subscribing to it.
