EP wants more pressure on Russia over human rights violations in Chechnya - Criticisms of law on NGOs

Strasbourg, 19/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling on the European Commission and the Council to be more active against “massive violations” of human rights, committed with virtual complete impunity, in Chechnya. The EU must play an active role in preventing further human rights violations and putting an end to the climate of impunity in the Republic of Chechnya, said MEPs.
