Support for restoring peace and democracy

Brussels, 04/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is underlining its support to restore peace and democracy to Nepal by providing EUR 12 million in assistance to address human rights issues and to contribute to a settlement of the conflict. It announced on Tuesday that EUR 7 million are to be used for a “conflict mitigation” project that will strengthen the National Human Rights Commission and the Supreme Court, and will allow legal aid to be provided to those who need it...
