Death of Phillip Whitehead

Brussels, 03/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament has lost one of its most active and pro-European British Labour MEPs. Phillip Whitehead, 68, died suddenly last Saturday following a heart attack. Elected to the European Parliament in 1994, Mr Whitehead formerly chaired the internal market and consumer protection committee.
