20/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance to the acquisition of joint control of Corporación Sidenor, S.A. (Sidenor) of Spain by Gerdau S.A. (Gerdau) of Brazil, Banco Santander Central Hispano S.A. (Grupo Santander) of Spain and Bogey Holding Company Spain S.L. (Bogey). Sidenor is a Spanish manufacturer of special steels, forgings and castings. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
