France's Français SAINT-GOBAIN has had its takeover bid for the UK's plasterboard company BPB accepted. The final bid was EUR 5.8 bn. It had to increase its bid several times, from an initial EUR 4.8 bn to EUR 5.8 bn (£7-75 a share).
