05/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - The euro-zone industrial producer price index rose by 0.6% in October 2005 compared with the previous month. In October 2005, EU25 prices also rose by 0.6%. In September prices increased by 0.5% in both the euro-zone and the EU25. In October 2005 compared to October 2004, industrial producer prices rose by 4.1% in the euro-zone and by 4.7% in the EU25. In October 2005, compared to the previous month, prices in total industry excluding the energy sector increased by 0.3% in the euro-zone and by 0.2% in the EU25. Prices in the energy sector rose by 1.7% and 1.9% respectively. The highest increases were registered in the Netherlands (+1.4%), and the lowest in France, Slovenia and Finland (all +0.2%), while prices in Portugal remained stable. In October 2005, compared to October 2004, excluding the energy sector, industrial prices increased by 1.3% in the euro-zone and by 1.4% in the EU25. Energy prices rose by 15.0% and 16.7% respectively.
