05/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - Following the recommendation of its rapporteur, Austrian Social Democrat Maria Berger, the European Parliament has decided not to defend the immunity of Andrzej Peczak. This Polish parliamentarian was a member of the European Parliament during the few months between Poland's accession to the EU and the latest Polish elections. His own parliament then went on to authorise his arrest, when he was no longer a member of the European Parliament.
