05/12/2005 (Agence Europe) - Following the recommendation of its rapporteur, German Christian Democrat Klaus-Heiner Lehne, the European Parliament has decided to defend the immunity and privileges of Giovanni Claudio Fava (Democratici di sinistra), who faces charges in Italy for defamation of character, due to comments he made about another public figure, which were published in a political review.
